Exceltrade Development Limited was established in 1989 as an international trade and trade finance structuring and advisory firm by the Founding Chief Executive Officer of International Bank of Asia (IBA), Ahmet D. Arsan. With over 25 years of international banking experience, Arsan has held senior executive management positions in IBA as well as First National Bank of Chicago (now - JP Morgan). Prior to assuming the position of CEO of International Bank of Asia, Arsan served for several years as Asia-Pacific Area Head of First Chicago, where he built and headed First Chicago Asia Pacific (now - JP Morgan Asia).
Holding many commercial contacts in the Greater China Region, Arsan spearheaded First Chicago's China business, and established the first joint-venture Investment Bank China formed in Hong Kong -- (CCIC) -- between First Chicago, Bank of China, Industrial Bank of Japan, and China Resources as partners. Appointed by the British Governor of Hong Kong, to serve on the Deposit Taking Companies' Advisory Committee, to assist the Hong Kong Government in administering new legislation on deposit taking companies, Arsan has contributed to the Banking and International Trade industry from many angles. Arsan has also been appointed by the President of Turkey as Honorary Consul General in Hong Kong from 1987-1989. Arsan speaks English and Turkish, and holds an MBA from the Carlson School of Management, and a B.Sc. in Public Administration from METU.
Exceltrade has two primary business areas, International Trade and International Trade Finance Structuring and Advisory. Geographically, the firm is focused on trade between Asia-Pacific countries (China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Korea, Japan, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand), Turkey, the United States, and the UK. The firm holds product expertise in several commodities, such as raw materials for manufacturing, raw steel, steel bars and billets, chemical products, chemical products for refineries, textiles, infant care products, and hardware. Exceltrade advisory services include strategic and financial advisory to institutions aiming to establish commercial ventures in China.

Kemal Arsan is a Partner and Director of Exceltrade, and is responsible for developing the firm's presence in Asia. Born in Hong Kong, Kemal is familiar with the region's business culture and is proficient in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese. Currently based in New York City, Kemal has lived in New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Beijing, and Shanghai.
Kemal's background includes several years with the Investment Banking and Principal Investment groups at Citigroup Global Markets in New York. Additionally, Kemal is a member of the Gerson Lehrman Group Financial Advisory Council.
Kemal is an alumnus of both Columbia University (MIA, International Finance and Economics), and Hong Kong International School. Kemal obtained FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses in 2006 and is a CFA Candidate.
